“The runners did an excellent job,” said Indians’ Coach Scott Edwards. “Many of the 27 runners I have this season are new to cross country.”

Five boys on the 15-member team are returnees, while four girls on the 12-member team previously.

“The season looks to be very promising after the times the runners put up Saturday,” Edwards said. “Many of the runners have already run times that I didn’t expect until later in the season.”

The next meet is 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, at Greensville.
