Heather Janae Capelli and Matthew Hayes Belcher have announced their engagement.

The future bride is the daughter of retired U.S. Coast Guard Capt. Barry and Sheryl Capelli of Manassas. Her grandparents are Mary Capelli, Roberta Fleming and the late Celio Jay Capelli and William Lawbaugh.

Her fiancé is the son of Cathy and William S. Belcher Jr. of Franklin. His grandparents are Shirley Crowder of Newsoms, William S. Belcher Sr. of Martinsville, and the late Wray Belcher and Hayes Crowder Jr.

The future Mrs. Belcher graduated from Osbourn Park High School and California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with a degree in child development.

Her fiancé graduated from Franklin High School and Radford University, where he studied marketing. He works for TSC Associates in Wheaton, Md.

The couple plans to wed this month.
