Fenton B. Holt, Sr.

Franklin – Fenton Bryant Holt, Sr., 83, a loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away August 25, 2011. He was born in Southampton County, a son of the late William Henry and Maggie Addcock Holt and was predeceased by a sister, Shirley Wetherald and three brothers, Will, Charles, and Douglas Holt. Mr. Holt was a retired superintendent of the pulp mill for Union Camp after 42 years of service. Mr. and Mrs. Holt moved to Lugoff, SC in 1981 to help start the Union Camp Eastover plant and resided there for 28 years before returning to Franklin in 2010. He was an Army Air Corps veteran and attended Hunterdale Christian Church and St. Johns Methodist Church in Lugoff, SC.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 60 years, Doris Blythe “Dot” Holt; three daughters, Jewel H Nolte (Michael) of Norfolk, Judy H. Dundalow (Joe) of Courtland, June H. Perry (Chris) of Lumberton, TX, two sons, Fenton Bryant Holt, Jr. (Debra) and Vincent P. Holt (Connie) all of Franklin; five grandchildren, Fenton Bryant “Bud” Holt, III (Kristie), April H. Boyce (Kevin), Michael V. Holt (Melissa), William L. Holt (Meredith), and Jeffrey D. Holt (Kay); and three great-grandchildren, Olivia, Dakota, and Peyton Holt; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Monday at the funeral home and suggests memorials be made to Franklin Fire and Rescue, P. O.
