PORTSMOUTH—Zora Benton Briley, 72, went to be with the Lord on Sunday Aug. 21, 2011, She was a native of Wilmington, NC a member of River Shore Baptist Church and attended Black Creek Baptist Church in Southampton Co.

Zora is survived by her husband, Wayne F. Briley; children, Susan Highers and Raymond, James Philyaw and Melissa, Sherri Philyaw, Anita Briley and Michael and 9 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in Loving Funeral Home with burial in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
