SUFFOLK—The investigation continues into a car accident that left two dead on July 9 in Suffolk.

Driver Cornell A. Richardson, 41, of Drewryville survived the 1 a.m. crash in the 6400 block of Holland Road. Passengers Keiska Thornhill, 36, of Franklin died at the scene and Laverne Samala Crowell, 36, of Newport News died four days later at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Suffolk police reported stopping Richardson for a traffic violation. He allegedly drove off when the officer got out of his car. Police followed and discovered debris from the car leaving the road and hitting a guardrail and a tree.
