COURTLAND—Some 60 youth and adults from Courtland Baptist Church did missions work at nine sites from July 25-29 in the Franklin-Southampton County area.

Each day started with breakfast and fellowship followed by praise and worship and a message from the Rev. Tommy Speight before going to work.

Groups were separated into three work crews. The workdays lasted until around 3 p.m. Participants repaired roofs, replaced water and sewer lines, painted, did landscaping, installed handicap ramps and did general housekeeping.

On the last day, the congregation held a cookout for workers and families.

The youth led both services on Sunday.
