JARRATT—Eugenia Doyle “Jinks” Morris, widow of Gilbert E. Morris, died Monday, August 1, 2011.

A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by two daughters, Betty M. Cooke and husband, Gomer, and Jeannie Woodard and husband, Stafford; one son, Gibbie Morris Jr.; four grandchildren, Sandy Peden and husband, James, Michael Woodard and wife, Darlene, W.J. Porch and wife, Amy and James Thomas Cooke Jr. and wife, Mandy; five great-grandchildren, James Allen Peden Jr., Jeffrey Peden, Jacob Peden, Kylie Cooke and Austin Farwell; three sisters, Sylvia Ogburn, Amelia Fernandez and Violet Stewart and husband, Bill; and sister-in-law, Muriel Doyle.

Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Linda Faye Morris.

The family will receive friends 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Road, Jarratt, Va.

The funeral service will be held graveside 10 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2011, at St. Andrews United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Boykins Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
