We want to wish the best of luck to Jennell Riddick in her bid for becoming the next Face of Fox 43.

The 29-year-old wife of Dwight Riddick, pastor at First Baptist Church in Franklin, seems like the perfect candidate for the job. An ordained minister and instructor of religion at Paul D. Camp Community College, Jennell could use your help.

In her bid for becoming the Portsmouth television station’s next spokeswoman with weekly appearances on “The Hampton Roads Show,” she must gather online votes.

To vote for Riddick, go to www.jennellriddick.com. Unlimited voting will end at midnight Sunday, Aug. 7.

The online votes make up only 25 percent of the total score. Scoring by judges representing the television station will make up the balance. The latest online tally released Friday showed Riddick in second place with 8,687 votes. Sarah “Birdy” Evans led with 12,137.

At stake is a one-year, $24,000 on-air contract with Fox 43.

Riddick is one of 10 finalists in the competition, which started out with 104 contestants. She’s worked hard to get to this point and deserves your support. The winner will be announced on Aug. 15 during “The Hampton Roads Show.”
