SUFFOLK—A Franklin man believed to be missing was “found” Thursday.

Charlie Lee Scott Sr., 58, went to the Suffolk Police Department to report he was not missing.

“He said ‘I am not missing. I left home and am staying with a relative,’” said Franklin Police Lt. Tim Whitt.

Franklin police began searching for Scott after his wife on Monday reported him missing. He apparently failed to return after leaving his home in the 2200 block of South Street at 4 p.m. Saturday.

There were concerns for his safety because Scott suffers from schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Scott was spotted twice in Holland — Saturday evening and 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Whitt.

Police checked hospitals, jails and sent information with Scott’s photo to the television stations as part of their search.
