FRANKLIN—A Newsoms man was arrested for allegedly pointing a gun at Dorchester Square apartments at 1:40 a.m. Sunday.
A witness reported seeing Gary Tremaine Warren Jr., 18, of 28477 W. Brook St. with the gun, Franklin police said. The witness gave police a description of the suspect and indicated he was traveling in an older, four-door Honda.
A police officer spotted the car and noticed that a backseat passenger matched the description provided to police.
Police said they found a .38-caliber revolver in the car and charged Warren with brandishing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, underage possession of alcohol and public drunkenness.
No one was hurt.
“When we make traffic stops, it’s absolutely one of the most dangerous things we do,” said Franklin Police Lt. Timothy Whitt. “We don’t know their intentions.”
