FRANKLIN—Mr. Larry C. Jones, 61, of Washington Street, Franklin, Va., departed this life to claim his eternal reward on July 12, 2011.

The Franklin, Va., native was born May 1, 1950.

Larry attended the Franklin Public School System and graduated from Hayden High School.

He was a former member of New Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

In June 2010, he retired from International Paper Corporation after 35 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Elsie M. Jones; two daughters, Annette Macklin and Lucinda Dunn (Billy) of Franklin, Va.; two sons, Christopher Jones of Hampton, Va., and Talbern Jones of Franklin, Va.; four sisters, Laureen Williams (Tyrone), Lisa Griffin (Henry), Karen Scott (Donald) and Lynette Grant; two brothers, Al Jones (Pam) and Keith Jones (Tonya); four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; and other relatives.

The family expresses sincere thanks to the staff of Hospice of Suffolk, Va., the Franklin Rescue Squad Team and the funeral home staff.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2011, at New Hope Baptist Church, 1415 Rosewood Ave., Franklin, Va., with the pastor, Reverend Anthony Goodwyn delivering the message of comfort.

The interment will be in Southview Cemetery.
