COURTLAND—India W. Phillips, 96, a native of Southampton County and a former resident of Sandston, quietly passed into the presence of her Lord July 4, 2011.

Mrs. Phillips was predeceased by her husband, Percy Bruce Phillips; parents, Sidney Rivers and Rosa Jo Westbrook; and her sister, Virginia W. Brooks.

Surviving Mrs. Phillips are her son, Sidney Bruce Phillips (Gayle); step-grandson, Will (Mindy); step-great-grandson, Hayden; nephew, Adrian Brooks; and nieces, Silvia Brooks and Elleen Romer (Steve).

A visitation of remembrance will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. July 8, 2011, at the home, 17409 Cary’s Bridge Road, Courtland (Sebrell). A private graveside service will be conducted at 10 a.m. July 9, 2011, at Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Speight officiating.
