FRANKIN—The city has hired a supervisor from the Chesapeake Department of Human Services as its new social services director.
C. Alan Hogge will be paid $66,000 a year. He replaces Beth Reavis, who left five months ago for a job elsewhere.
“The city is fortunate to have attracted a person of Mr. Hogge’s caliber and social services background to lead our department of social services,” city manager June Fleming. “He will certainly be an asset to the city’s senior staff. I look forward to working with him as we strive to identify and meet the human services needs of city residents.”
Hogge earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Averett University and is expected to receive a master’s degree in counseling from Luther Rice University in December.
Hogge for the past 10 years has worked for the City of Chesapeake. He is currently serving as a social work supervisor in foster care.
He also was employed by the Chesapeake Community Services Board for five years.
Hogge is married and has three children.
