Mildred Morrison Bullock

CROFTON, Md.—Mildred Morrison Bullock, 89, widow of Philip T. Bullock, died Saturday, June 18, 2011, in Crofton, Md.

Mrs. Bullock was a former resident of Fredericksburg, Richmond and Franklin and a member of Franklin Baptist Church.

She was born Jan. 18, 1922, in Brockton, Mass., to the late George W. and Florence Inez Freden Morrison.

Mildred retired from the Ethyl Corp. (New Market Corp.) in January 1985.

Mildred’s family kept in touch with visits, phone calls and letters. She remained close to many friends, including her best friend from high school, and those made during the 54 years she was together with Phil, one becoming as close as a sister. The Grief Support Group of Franklin became a touchstone for her following her husband’s passing. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Richard Burklow of Crofton and Christine and Ronald Norton of Courtland; her grandchildren, Katherine Peltier and her husband, Hayden of Arvada, Colo., Brian Mitchell Norton of Courtland and Jessica Bryant and her husband, David, of Richmond; her great-granddaughter, Noelle; her great-grandson, Adam; 13 nieces and nephews; and one niece by marriage.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Florence Rugg, Louise Chaison, Marilyn Simmons and Shirley Smith.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 23, in Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Julie Price officiating.

The family will receive friends from noon-1:30 p.m. prior to the service at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Hospice of Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, Md., 21401.

The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Crofton Care and Rehab for its care during the past five months.
