Arnold W. Bowden

Franklin – Arnold Woodrow Bowden, 87, passed away June 18, 2011 at the East Pavilion. He was born and reared in Tuscaloosa, AL, a son of the late William Alcie and Esther Frazier Bowden, and was predeceased by a brother, Norman Bowden. A Navy veteran of WW II, he was a retired architectual consultant from SCM Corporation. Mr. Bowden was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Mary Elizabeth Bowden; two daughters, Peggy B. Barker (Wayne) of Pelham, NC and Linda B. Selleck (Dr. Ron) of High Point, NC; one son Robert Bowden (Betty) of Franklin; one sister, Billie Joyce Clarke (Thomas) of Broken Arrow, OK; six grandchildren, Michael Barker, Joey Barker (Cathy), Bree Barker (Jason), Sarah Kessler (Dr. Robert), Rachel White (Jim), and Kristen Bowden; and three great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica, and Jada.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 pm, Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Clyde Alderman officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
