A daughter was born May 4, 2011, to Ricky and Ada Butler of Newsoms at Sentara Obici Hospital in Suffolk.

Laney Rose Butler weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces and was 18¼ inches.

She joins a brother, Levi.

Maternal grandparents are Linwood Grimes Sr. of Chesapeake and Rose Grimes and Roy and Lynn Richards of Newsoms.

Paternal grandparents are John and Rebecca Butler of Franklin.
