CARRSVILLE—Carroll Francis Bowles, 74, passed away June 5, 2011, at Norfolk General Hospital.

He was a son of the late Linwood and Neva Mae Bowles and was predeceased by a brother, Bobby Bowles, and stepmother, Patience.

Carroll was a retired correctional officer with the Virginia State Department of Corrections in Walters. After retirement, he drove for Hancock Peanut Company.

Left to cherish his memory are two daughters, Sylvia B. Stephenson and husband, Russell, and Debbie B. Rapp and husband, Val, all of Windsor; and five grandchildren, Valarie, Tiffany and Kendal Rapp, and Craig and Rebecca Stephenson; and a special nephew, Larry Bowles.

The funeral will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Shirley Oliver officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service. Interment will be private.
