JoAnn Griggs

JoAnn Thames Griggs, 63, of Stafford County, peacefully passed into the loving arms of her savior Saturday, June 4, 2011.

Mrs. Griggs was a member of Falmouth Baptist Church. She was a living witness for the Glory of God and his son, Jesus Christ. JoAnn was heavily involved with the church, especially children’s activities. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Survivors include her husband, William R. “Bill” Griggs; her sons, David William Griggs and his wife, Amy, of Stafford and Paul MacArthur Griggs, of Fredericksburg; her daughters, Laura Marie Griggs Hatch and her husband, Bill, of Franklin and Kelly Jean Griggs Shelton and her husband, Cameron, of Falmouth; her brother, Steven Rogers Thames and his wife, Monica, of Laguna Beach, CA; her sister, Linda Sue Bosman and her husband, Rev. Jim Bosman, of Lynden, WA; and her grandchildren, Justin Vance, Jordan William and Emily Madison Griggs and Aiden William and Olivia Grace Hatch. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Joseph Clinton and Betty Jane Thames, of Fallbrook, CA.

A celebration of life will be held at 6pm, Wednesday, June 8 at Falmouth Baptist Church with the Rev. Leslie Powers officiating. The family will hold a private interment at Quantico National Cemetery.
