Jarratt named manager of marketing for FSEDI

FRANKLIN—Amanda Jarratt his been hired manager of marketing for Franklin Southampton Economic Development Inc.

Jarratt fills the position left vacant by Tommy Miller, who was with the local economic development agency for three years as manager of business development. He left in March to serve as manager of existing industry for Hanover County Economic Development.

Jarratt most recently served as the director of planning and development for the City of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.

An area native, Jarratt previously served as planner and later deputy director of community development for the City of Franklin from August 2006 through November 2009.

She has a bachelor’s of arts degree in government from the College of William and Mary and a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from Virginia Commonwealth University.

As manager of marketing, Jarratt will administer the Franklin Southampton Enterprise Zone, a local incentives program for new and expanding businesses, as well as assist with marketing and communication plans. She also will manage the existing industry visitation program in partnership with Franklin Southampton Chamber of Commerce and Paul D. Camp Community College and further develop the tourism and hospitality marketing plans for the Franklin-Southampton area.
