EMPORIA–Dr. Carl David Hellberg, 74, died May 27, 2011, at Community Memorial Health Center in South Hill.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at Wright Funeral Home in Franklin. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home

Dr. Hellberg, a dentist for 37 years in Emporia, was raised and educated in Franklin.

Survivors include two sons, Carl Stephen Hellberg of Bethesda, Md., and Robert Christer Hellberg of Japan; a sister, Mary Ann Morgan of Portsmouth; and a grandson.
