FRANKLIN—Windsor’s Miguel Roman made an unassisted goal to lift the Dukes past Franklin during a Friday Tri-Rivers District soccer game.
Hosted by the Broncos, there was no score at the end of the first half.
Duke Evan Binkley scored the first goal, and Franklin’s Daryl West tied up the game on an assist from Angel Padilla.
Roman made his goal with less than 10 minutes remaining in the game.
“It was a very, very good game,” said Franklin Coach Brandon Ivey, despite losing starter Victoria Barrett to a knee injury. Barrett joins starter Tony Bland, who remains out with a broken collarbone.
“My primary strikers had lots of shots, but no goals, with Mack Turner taking nine shots and Eli Trantham taking seven,” said Windsor Coach Matt Burgess.
Windsor keeper Blake Allen made 12 saves.
Franklin will travel to Appomattox Regional Governor’s School for a 4 p.m. Friday, May 13, match.
Windsor will travel to Surry for another district match at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
