Windsor defeats Franklin netters 9-0

FRANKLIN—The Windsor boys’ tennis team on Tuesday defeated Franklin 9-0 in a Tri-Rivers match in Franklin.

Singles winners were No. 1 Bryce Lawrence over Parish Garza 6-0, 6-3; No. 2 Zach Stenger-Hayden over Michael Lawyer 6-0, 6-0; No. 3 Kyle Hollowell over Tevin Sumblin 6-1, 6-2; No. 4 Cody Reese over Shawn Derama 6-1, 2-1 (defaulted); No. 5 Maurice Bynum over William Jackson 6-1, 6-3; and No. 6 Tom Hogan won by forfeit.

In doubles, No. 1 Lawrence/Hollowell defeated Lawyer/Sumblin 8-2; No. 2 Reese/Bynum defeated Derama/Jackson 8-2; and No. 3 Stenger-Hayden/Hogan won by forfeit.

In action from Monday, Windsor lost 7-2 to Appomattox Regional Governor’s School.

Winners for the Dukes were No. 4 Cody Reese over JaQuaze Murdock 3-6, 6-3, 7-6, 7-2 tiebreaker; and No 1 Lawrence/Stenger-Hayden over Barsamian/Horton in doubles.

The team is 3-5 overall and has a 2-1 district record.
