Franklin walks 18 batters in loss to Surry

SURRY—Franklin sophomore Lawrence Parham was tagged with the loss after four Bronco pitchers walked 18 batters during a 16-7 Tri-Rivers District loss to Surry on Thursday.

“That was the difference in the game,” said Franklin Coach Bill Beale.

Other pitchers were Scott Davis, Tevin Sumblin and Ryan Petrasek.

Davis led the Broncos with three hits followed by Sumblin and Shaquan Cook with two apiece and Grant Scarboro with one.

The Broncos are 0-4 in the district and will travel to Charles City on Monday, May 9, for a 4:30 p.m. game.
