FRANKLIN—Franklin freshman Angel Padilla scored the Broncos’ lone goal on a penalty kick during Tuesday’s 7-1 loss to Appomattox Regional Governor’s School in Franklin.

The game was the Broncos’ first of the season for the Tri-Rivers District. Franklin is 2-4 on the season.

Bronco junior Brian Holland made seven saves.

“The Governor’s School is a very skilled team,” said Franklin Coach Brandon Ivey. “They are a very well coached team and I think they’ve been playing together for a couple years. They’re not necessarily faster, just more skilled.”

Franklin at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 6, will host Windsor for its second district game.

“We’ve seen them play so we’ve been preparing for them,” Ivey said.
