COURTLAND—Conni V. Mason, 54, died April 9, 2011. She was born on September 24, 1956 in Courtland. Upon graduating from Southampton High School, she attended the University of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia, where she majored in Social Work. Ms. Mason loved the Richmond area and therefore soon after college, she moved to Glen Allen where she resided until her death. While in Richmond, she worked in various aspects of the food industry and always had stories to tell of her experiences and of relationships established with people around her. While sharing in laughter regarding these stories, we were also given regular updates regarding her two dogs Toby and Tuts.
Ms. Mason is the daughter of the late Jessye Brown Mason and the late Earl T. Mason Sr. She leaves behind to mourn her death but to rejoice in her new life, four siblings, Brenda Warren (Russell) of Franklin; Douglas Mason of Boston, Mass., Earl Mason Jr. (Leonetta) of Richmond; and Jessie Ivy (Willie) of Roswell, Ga. Sh e also leaves many other loved ones who will miss her dearly, including aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Though she left us unexpectedly, we know that she was at peace, so there we must be also. We will hold on those fond memories and rest in knowing that for to be absent from this place is to be present with the Lord.
A memorial service was held April 12, 2011 at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Courtland with Rev. Anthony Nutt officiating. Information provided by Engram Funeral Home.
