ISLE OF WIGHT—Those who helped Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office restart its canine program were recently recognized.

Donations from individuals and businesses and the donation of a dog through American K-9 Interdiction and its subsequent training, has allowed the program to get going again.

The sheriff’s office will use the dogs on bomb and drug investigations, and for crime prevention.

Those recognized included David and Tammy Edwards, owners of Windsor Hardware donated kennels; Dallas Banks, manager of Johnson Auto Parts–NAPA provided vehicle rain guards; and Wilson Holland, DeWitt’s Automotive Center provided concrete for pens.
