Thanks to Kingdom Life Ministries

What a cool thing for Kingdom Life Ministries to do for Western Tidewater folks on Saturday.

The Franklin church, which is constructing a new building on Delaware Road, for two hours offered motorists a quarter discount for every gallon of gasoline they purchased at Plaza Sunoco at Armory Drive and North College Drive. The promotion knocked the $3.65 cent-a-gallon gas down to $3.40 — a bargain these days.

The promotion was advertised in The Tidewater News, and the sign that advertises gasoline prices was changed for the two hours for passing motorists to see.

The church took its charitable effort one step further by having its members pump gasoline for customers and wash their windshields.

Members from the church pumped 1,971 gallons of gas into 193 vehicles between noon and 2 p.m. The church’s bill to Plaza Sunoco was just under $500.

As gas prices approach the $4-a-gallon mark, for many it means changing your lifestyle. It costs a lot more just to go to work, which may mean cutting out going to the movies on the weekend.

Any relief is welcome.

Also, it’s so nice to see a church giving back to the community. So hats off to Kingdom Life Ministries for doing a good deed.
