Williams, Nunnally take first in tourney

LITTLETON, N.C.—The team of Doug Williams and David Nunnally took first during round five of the Three Rivers Bass Tournament Series at Lake Gaston in Littleton, N.C., on Sunday.

Fishing from the Pea Hill Creek landing, the team caught five bass that weighed a total of 10.68 pounds

Darden Gillette and Marty Britt took second, followed by Reggie Rush and Greg Harmon third, Kevin Gunn and Earl Gunn fourth, and Harvey Umphlett and Nathan Umphlett fifth.

Harmon caught the heaviest bass at 3.37 pounds.

“Lake Gaston was a nice change from river fishing,” Harmon said.

“Fishing at Lake Gaston was fun, and I’m glad everyone got to weigh in fish today,” added Williams, who is an officer with the club

The series returns to the Nottoway River on Sunday, May 1.
