FRANKLIN—Franklin Police believe they have recovered some of the items taken in a rash of burglaries this year.
Police seized numerous pieces of jewelry and business records after a search of Liberty Coins at 217 N. Main St., Lt. Tim Whitt said Friday.
“We know stolen items have been purchased there,” Whitt said. “We didn’t single it out for giggles. We were led to this business because of our investigation.”
Whitt said once detectives catalog the evidence, the victims will be asked to identify what might be theirs.
The investigation into the alleged illegal purchases is ongoing and charges may be pending.
Police said they also discovered Liberty Coins was operating as a precious metals dealer without a permit.
Liberty Coins owner Warren Myers could not be reached for comment.
