FRANKLIN–James Franklin “Jimmy” Lee, 57, passed away April 14, 2011 at Southampton Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Portsmouth, a son of the late Linwood Curtis and Beatrice Drake Lee and was predeceased by two brothers, Linwood Curtis “Lin” Lee, Jr. and Robert E. “Robbie” Lee. Jimmy was a Marine Corps veteran and retired from Union Camp Corporation as a storeroom clerk. He was a member of Boykins Baptist Church and an honorary member of the Boykins Fire and Rescue Squad having served with them for 22 years. He was a two term member of the Boykins Town Council.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 25 years, Martha Ann Cheek Lee; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Lee; a son, John Curtis Lee and fiancée, Jessica Cumberledge; a brother, Stephen D. “Steve” Lee and two nephews, Bryan Lee and Phillipp Lee.
A graveside service, with military honors, will be conducted at 2 pm Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, with the Rev. Raymond Bunn officiating.
