Youth art exhibitions opening at Rawls

COURTLAND—Rawls Museum Arts is showcasing the artistic talents of young people in two exhibitions, which open Thursday, April 21. A reception will be held 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The Regional High School Exhibition is open to students in ninth through 12th grades at Southampton, Isle of Wight, Sussex, Surry and Franklin public and private schools. Area home school students are also eligible.

The awards portion of the high school show will begin at 7:15 p.m.

Also opening that same night will be the Education Outreach Art exhibition featuring works created by students selected to participate in the daylong gifted art program that occurs each month during the academic year. Approximately 100 students from Franklin Public and Southampton County schools, and one group from the Home Treasures home school organization will participate.

The opening reception is free.

Rawls Museum Arts is at 22376 Linden St., Courtland.
