FRANKLIN—Two Franklin men arrested Wednesday for allegedly burglarizing six homes in the city have been charged with two more break-ins.
Franklin Police Lt. Tim Whitt said more charges would be pending.
Franklin police on Thursday charged Charles Cary, 21, of the 300 block of Pearl Street and Christopher Artis, 18, of the 1400 block of South Street with break-ins at 303 W. Fourth Ave. and 302 Beamon St.
One day earlier Cary and Artis were charged with burglaries at 599 W. Second Ave. 4A from Dec. 8, 700 Charles St. on Jan. 27, 401 W. First Ave. on Feb. 22, 827 Cool Spring Street on March 16, and 402 W. First Ave. and 305 Bogart St., both on Jan. 19.
Investigating officers following up on information recovered evidence from the crimes at a local business and were able to identify the suspects.
Both suspects are being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
So far this year, there have been 38 residential burglaries in the city.
“Ten have been solved so we’re making good headway,” Whitt said.
