Franklin police arrest burglary suspects

FRANKLIN-Two Franklin men have been arrested in connection with several residential burglaries in the city.

Charles Cary, 21, of the 300 block of Pearl Street and Christopher Artis, 18, of the 1499 block of South Street have been charged with the burglaries of six different houses, according to a statement from the Franklin Police Department.

Investigating officers following up on information also recovered evidence from the crimes at a local business and were able to identify the suspects.

Both suspects are being held at Western Tidewater Regional Jail and are being charged in connection with burglaries of the following addresses:

– 599 W. Second Avenue 4A on Dec. 8, 2010

– 402 W. First Avenue on Jan 19

Artis

– 305 Bogart Street on Jan. 19

– 700 Charles Street on Jan. 27

– 401 W. First Avenue on Feb. 22

– 827 Cool Spring Street on March 16.
