EASTVILLE—The Franklin girls’ tennis team lost 4-5 to Northampton High School on Tuesday.

The Lady Broncos took 4 of 6 single matches, but the Lady Yellowjackets swept all three doubles matches.
With two players missing the three lower seeds, the Lady Broncos stepped up a rung in the ladder with Jeanetta Sessoms winning at the No. 3 singles 9-7, No. 4 Kaitlyn Trotter won 8-1 and No. 5 Tyreckka Hawks won 8-2.

JaShonda Elliot played the No. 6 singles, winning 8-1. No. 1 seed Samantha Bruck lost her match 0-8, and No. 2 Sharnice Williams lost 6-8.
Franklin’s No. 1 pair of Bruck and Williams lost 1-8 and the No. 3 pair of Tyreckka Hawks and Rebecca Gray fell 4-8. The No. 2 doubles team of Kiera Cofield and Maura Zurfluh played a very competitive set only to lose in a tiebreaker 9-8 (7-2).
