SUFFOLK—Clarence “C.J.” James Mudge Sr., 88, of Suffolk died March 26, 2011.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today, March 30, at CrossPointe Free Will Baptist Church. Burial with full military honors will be at Nansemond Suffolk Cemetery.

Mr. Mudge retired as a chief boatswain’s mate from the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II, the Korean Conflict, Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam.

Survivors include his daughter, Cheryl J. Zimmerman of Ivor.
