SUFFOLK—William James Spain Jr., 84, of Suffolk, died March 9, 2011.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oxford United Methodist Church, Suffolk. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home, Suffolk.

Mr. Spain, a Drewryville native, was a former president and chairman of the board for Birdsong Peanut Co. in Suffolk.

Survivors include his wife, Marionette Spain; three sons; and two sisters, including Margaret Covington of Drewryville; and two brothers, including Tilman Spain of Isle of Wight County.
