SUFFOLK—A 23-year-old woman died after the pickup she was riding in rolled at 1:45 a.m. Sunday.
Hollyann Heinrich, reportedly from Emporia, died of her injuries at the hospital.
Suffolk police said they believe alcohol was involved.
“It is still under investigation as to whether or not it contributed to the accident,” said Suffolk Public Information Officer Debbie George.
According to George, William Byrum Davis of Carrsville was driving a 2005 Chevrolet westbound on Glen Haven Drive. The truck left the road, went into a ditch, hit a culvert and traveled through a yard before flipping 2½ times. It came to rest upside down.
Heinrich and another passenger, Dustin Bishop, were thrown. Bishop suffered serious injuries. It’s not known what hospital Bishop was taken to or if Davis was injured.
