SHS boys’ season ends

CULPEPER-The Southampton High School boys’ season came to an end on Thursday night as the No. 3 ranked Indians lost 88-62 to No. 2 Culpeper in the Region 1 semifinals.
Culpeper earned a spot in the state tournament.
Culpeper hit 11, 3-pointers. Bobby Zajkowski scored 20 points; Nik Stewart added 17. Drayton Shanks scored 16 points and made 7 rebounds.
Josh Johnson led Southampton with 19; Nick Doyle added 13.
Culpeper outpaced Southampton 24-10 at the end of the first quarter and 48-26 at the half. Culpeper went into the final period with a 75-37 lead.
