FHS girls’ season ends with 52-44 loss to Colonial Beach

FRANKLIN—The Franklin girls’ basketball team ended its season with a 52-44 loss to Colonial Beach in the Tri-Rivers District Tournament on Tuesday.

Colonial Beach was the Northern Neck runner-up.

Franklin finished with a 5-14 overall record.

Lady Bronco Tiara Rogers led all scorers with 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Victoria Barrett and Janesha Hurdle scored 7 points each.

In related matters, Rogers and Barrett were named to the Tri-Rivers District First and Second teams, respectively.

Student-athletes named to the Tri-Rivers All-Academic Team were girls’ basketball players Janesha Hurdle, Ashlea Hough and Barrett; boys’ basketball player Reshard Sumblin; and cheerleaders Tabbitha Bruck, Shaquira Holeman, Chastity Hunt, Jennifer Jervey, Sheresa Lankford and Sharnise Williams.
