Grant named Player of the Year

FRANKLIN—Franklin High School senior basketball player Justin Grant was named Player of the Year for the Tri-Rivers District.

Grant, who also was chosen for the First Team, led the district in scoring with an average of 20.8 points per game and also made 10.2 rebounds per game.

On Feb. 9 while playing at home against Chesterfield Community High School, Grant scored his 1,000th career point as a Bronco player. He made 164 points during his sophomore year, 506 as a junior and scored 338 this year with one game left in the season. Grant scored a career-high 45 points on Dec. 16, 2009.

Broncos Andre Foreman and Trey Kigler received Honorable Mention from the district.
