Faith in mankind reassured for woman

To the Editor:
On Monday, Jan. 31, my faith in the goodness of fellow humans was reassured.
Tragically, that day, my 90-year-old mother fell as she was about to enter the Bank of Southside Virginia to conduct business there. Her leg was broken severely, and she was unable to move until an ambulance came approximately 20 minutes later.
As she lay on the sidewalk, a kind gentleman came to her aid, called 911 and held her hand as I ran into the bank to get help. Two very concerned bank tellers offered assistance and a blanket to cover my mother.
So, thank you, all you kind people who passed by and offered your help, especially the nice man who called 911 and those considerate bank tellers.
