EMPORIA—Wilbur Louis Bass, Jr. of Emporia passed away to be with his Heavenly Father on February 14, 2011.

He is survived by his beloved wife Irma Jarratt Bass; three children, Billy Bass of Emporia and girlfriend Laura Ramsey of Chester, Robert and Jerrica Bass of Emporia; sister in law Hazel Moody and husband Jerry of Seaboard, North Carolina; and beloved cats Mango, Cleo and Eddie; Mother Lola Bass of Courtland; two brothers, Donnie Bass and wife Sandy and Charlie Bass and wife Peggy of Courtland; two sisters Glenda Blythe and husband Joe of Hunterdale; and Marilyn Crowder and husband Tommy of Boykins.

He was preceded in death by his father Wilbur Louis Bass; a son Woodrow Wilson Bass; a daughter Carolyn Elizabeth Bass. Mr. Bass was employed for over 30 years with VDOT, where he had many caring friends.

The family received friends Thursday at Owen Funeral Home, 303 S. Halifax Rd, Jarratt, Virginia. The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2011 at Owen Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greensville Memorial Cemetery.
