FRANKLIN—Hazel L. Grant, 94, of Franklin, died February 12, 2011, in her home after a long illness.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at New Piney Grove of Newsoms. Burial will be in the Old Piney Grove church cemetery. The Rev. George Futrell will officiate.

Mrs. Grant was a native of Southampton County.

She retired from Georgia Pacific of North Carolina after 30 years of service.

She attended New Piney Grove and was a missionary and a member of the senior choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ned Grant; her daughter Janice M. Vincent and son-in-law, Chancey Vincent.

Survivors include sisters, Susie Worrell of Franklin and Essie M. Benns of Severn, N.C.

Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
