Clyde B. Pitchford Jr.

FRANKLIN—Clyde B. “C.B.” Pitchford Jr., 56, of Franklin passed away on January 26, 2011, at his home.

Born July 31, 1954, in Norfolk, he was the son of the late Clyde and Ruth Owen Pitchford.

He managed 20/20 Global Group and enjoyed riding horses, Elvis Presley music and his faithful companions Lucy and Rufus.

He graduated in 1972 from Norfolk Collegiate, attended Virginia Wesleyan and graduated from the University of Richmond in 1977.

He was a member of the Weslyman Bible Class.

Mr. Pitchford was a gentle man with a big heart. You will always be my hero. Fly high and know you were loved greatly and will be missed dearly by so many people.

He is survived by two sisters, Owen Pitchford of Norfolk and Gale Beasley and her husband, Frank, of Chesapeake; a nephew, Billy Rafter and his wife, Nan, and their two sons, Cutty and Tug Rafter; two nieces, Shay Horst and her sons, Alex and Travis Horst, and Cameron Rafter and his nephew, Tim Jones.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Portlock United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bob Robinson officiating. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Clyde’s memory to Doberman Rescue, Franklin or Courtland Fire Department or a charity of your choice.
