PDCCC students visit General Assembly

RICHMOND — Paul D. Camp Community College students and officials recently visited the Virginia General Assembly as part of Virginia Community College System’s 2011 “Every Day is Community College Day.”
Joshua Gray of Ivor, Brenda Anyanwu of Zuni, Sarah Hurst of Carrsville, Ryan Suits of Drewryville, and Linda Muse-Ruvio, Alice Adoga, Rob Carter, Kimberly Holmes and Zachary Gurganus, all of Franklin, represented the college at the Assembly.
After a briefing in the Library of Virginia by Dr. Glenn DuBois, chancellor of the VCCS, participants visited the offices of Delegates Roslyn Tyler, D-Jarratt, S. Chris Jones, R-Suffolk, Lionell Spruill Sr., D-Chesapeake and William K. Barlow, D-Smithfield, and Sens. Frederick M. Quayle, R-Suffolk, and L. Louise Lucas, D-Portsmouth, to request continued support for community colleges.
Members of the groups also were recognized by Jones in the House Gallery and Lucas in the Senate Gallery at the state Capitol building.
