Franklin defeats Windsor 80-58

FRANKLIN—Franklin boys defeated Windsor 80-58 Friday night in a Tri-Rivers District match-up.

“We knew this was a must win for us, and the boys stepped up and played to their potential,” said Bronco Coach Danny Dillon. We are continuing to get better and see progress with every practice and every game”

Franklin came out hitting three, 3-pointers in the first quarter for a 17-12 lead by the end of the period.

Franklin senior Justin Grant had two, 3-pointers while Jalen Vincent knocked down three by the end of the second quarter. Windsor trailed 37-29 at the half.

The Broncos outscored Windsor 30-12 in the third for a 67-41 lead.

“Our 30-point third quarter tonight showed just how good we could be in any given quarter and on any given night,” Dillon said. “I’m proud of the way the guys continue to become a team but more importantly continue to become a

family.”

Grant led all scorers with 31, while newcomer Deshawn Lassiter had a triple, double with 14 points, 16 rebounds and 10 assists.

Windsor was led by Tony Walton with 12.

The Broncos improved to 6-7 overall and 4-5 in the district.

The Broncos’ junior varsity team took down Windsor 54-31. Eight Broncos scored. Adam Grant led all scorers with 15 and had 12 assists.

“I love it when my whole team plays a part in a game” said Franklin’s Coach Robby Cutchins. “Adam Grant got everyone involved tonight and that’s what a great point guard does.”

The Broncos move their record to 7-4.
