Two more arrested for alleged drug sales

FRANKLIN—Franklin police have charged two additional suspects — for a total of eight — for allegedly selling crack cocaine or heroin to undercover agents.
The recent arrests include Stephanie Joyner, 39, of 611 Amherst Lane, Waverly, who was charged with three counts distribution of cocaine, and Damien Beale, 25, of 443 Bruce St., Franklin.
At the time of Beale’s arrest, police said he was in possession of crack cocaine, a loaded Ruger 9mm pistol and $600. Beale was charged with distribution of cocaine, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm while in possession of drugs and carrying a concealed weapon.
Arrested on Jan. 26 were
* Fritez “Freddie” Hunt, 54, of 433 Cobb St., possession of heroin with intent to distribute
* Reginald Leon Hunt, 51, of 410 Bruce St., who is Fritez Hunt’s brother, three counts of distribution of heroin, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute
* Gennis Lee Edwards Jr., 50, of 221 Stonewall St., distribution of cocaine
* Alphonso Garris, 49, of 1313 Virginia St., distribution of cocaine
* Shawndazz Hudson, 24, of 323 Pearl St., Apt. D, two counts of distribution of cocaine.
* Robert Earl Spruill, 50, of 2005 South St., distribution of cocaine
After the alleged undercover buys were made, police turned the evidence over to court and the eight suspects were indicted. Police then got warrants for their arrests.
