DREWRYVILLE—Louis Winfield Clayton, 80, of Drewryville, died Saturday, January 29, 2011.

He was a native of Baltimore, Md., an Army veteran for the Korean Conflict, member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Franklin Sportsman Association, Board of Directors of Paul D. Camp Community, Southampton Teachers Association, Virginia Education Association, National Educational Association, public school educator of Southampton County, having served as principal for several years.

Louis is survived by his wife, Jean S. Clayton of Drewryville; one son, Keisby P. Clayton of Drewryville; one granddaughter, Merrill A. Clayton of Drewryville; and one sister, Vernell London of Philadelphia, Pa.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 3, at 1 p.m. from the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Drewryville with Rev. James Brown officiating. Interment will be in the Reese-Sykes Family Cemetery in Emporia.
