Rogers nets 27 for Broncos’ 1-point loss

PETERSBURG—Franklin’s Tiara Rogers scored 27 points during the Lady Broncos’s 49-48 loss to Appomattox Regional Governor’s School during a Friday Tri-Rivers District game.

Franklin led 27-23 at the half and by as much as 11 points early in the third quarter.

Appomattox scored 10 unanswered points to knot the game at 36 going into the fourth quarter. The Lady Broncos took an early fourth quarter lead on a lay-up from Rogers.

Franklin’s Aysa Lee made 12 rebounds.

The Lady Broncos are 2-9 overall and 2-4 in the conference.

The junior varsity and varsity teams will host Surry at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, for a district match-up.
