ISLE OF WIGHT—The School Board is soliciting input on its search for a new superintendent through public meetings and an online survey.

The online survey can be accessed through the school division’s website, www.iwcs.k12.va.us. The survey is anonymous and confidential and takes less than 10 minutes to complete. It must be completed by Jan. 28.

The board has also planned three meetings to discuss and receive comments on the superintendent search.

The board will meet at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 25, at the School Board Office in Smithfield.

Meetings to receive comments from the public will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Smithfield High School and Thursday, Feb. 3, at Windsor Elementary School.

Superintendent Dr. Michael McPherson, who’s led the school district since 2002, plans to retire at the end of his contract on June 30. The School Board hopes to announce the district’s next superintendent in May.
